seattle hotels : "Grant" wrote in message...This site gives a pretty good look at the specials that seem to go one inSeattle over the winter months. These hotels are located downtown, so they might not be the most convenientfor airport service. Also, if you are inclined to try priceline the following link providespretty good info on what others have been able to get in Seattle. Pricelinegets a black-eye over some of its practices, but I've sure had good luckwith the hotel program. We really like the Hotel Monaco in downtown Seattle. The staff is veryfriendly, the decor is eclectic, colorful and "cool", they have a happy hourof sorts in the lobby - free wine from 5:30-6:30 pm or so. You can evenhave a pet goldfish delivered to your room for your stay in case you missyour home goldfish! A gimmick, I know, but it's a fun place to stay in agreat location downtown. The rooms have every amenity. Only flaw - nowater view. If you want a water view I would recommend the Westin. We stayed at the airport Hampton Inn which was inexpensive and had the niceststaff I have encountered in a long time. I'm not sure if they would let youpark your car there for a week but you could ask. Free shuttle service to theairport, they shuttled us to restaurants in the area, and gave us all sorts ofhints/information on sightseeing. Rooms were clean, free breakfast.

seattle hotels : I am planning on coming to Seattle for the February 21st game against theBucks. I am a Milwaukee Bucks season ticket holder so I thought I wouldincorporate the game into my vacation. I have never been to Seattle beforeso I am looking for hotel recommendations. A place within walking distanceof the Key Arena would be ideal. Also, does anyone have extra tickets to that game to sell? I am looking forseats near the visitors' bench. My advice would be to head on over to , enterthe address of Key Arena (sorry, don't know it off the top of my head, butI'm sure you can find it somewhere) and search for hotels like a mile orhalf a mile around that address. I work about three blocks west of KeyArena, so off the top of my head I can think of the Homewood SuitesDowntown Seattle, the Inn at Queen Anne (the neighborhood around Key Arenais known as lower Queen Anne) and the Hampton Inn & Suites SeattleDowntown. Here are some links... if you click "Map" on the left side, you should seethat Key Arena is pretty close to each hotel.Hampton Inn & Suites: Homewood Suites: Inn @ Queen Anne:

seattle hotels : I've never stayed at any of these places, but I can tell you that thefirst two (Hampton and Homewood) are larger, chain-type hotels while theInn at Queen Anne is a smaller, old quaint sort of place. In terms ofdistace, the Inn is closest (less than a block), the Homewood is second atabout four blocks and the Hampton is farthest, about a 10 minute walk. There may be others closer that I'm not thinking of right now.Oh, and be advised that the location of Key Arena is slightly off on thesemaps for whatever reason. They've got the correct general location, butit's actually farther west than they show it... just slide it to the leftuntil it fits in that little notch. If you look at the map you'll see whatI mean.Suffered a bait-and-switch with these folks when my siblings came up forthe All-Star game last year. If you actually get the room you book, I'msure it'll be fine. :)Eric, you may also want to give Hotwire a try. Not sure how they sliceup the area but you should be able to restrict your search to somethingreasonably close to the Key. They're always my first stop and they'venever let me down.

seattle hotels : I'm going to Seattle for a conference in March and will be stayingfor a week.I've the foll. list of hotels. The conference is at the Sheraton.I want to find out how far are the various hotels from the meetingsite and whether they are all respectable and in respectableneighborhood. Btw, is the U. Wash. campus far from downtown and,if not, do they offer accomodation? Thanks. Lok.All of the hotels you mention are in the central downtown area. Though Iam not personally familiar with all of them, the ones I have been in arequite nice. The Sheraton, where your meeting is to be held, is excellent. The Stouffer is also very good. I think the Westin is somewhat overrated(and pricey) but it's public areas are excellent. As to the location of the University of Washington, it is about 3-4 milesNortheast of the central area where the hotels you mention are located.I am not aware of any first class hotels right around the University. If you are going to have a rental car during your stay in the Seattle area, and if you are cost conscious regarding hotels, you might look at someof Seattle's suburbs. Bellevue, which is on the east side of LakeWashington from Seattle, has several nice hotels that are a little cheaperthan those you mention in downtown Seattle. In fact, the University ofWashington is between Bellevue and downtown Seattle.

seattle hotels : Has anyone stayed at the Commodore or Moore hotels in Seattle? Is therea reason they are so inexpensive, other than lack of deluxe amenities?Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with them?I understand neither has parking or air conditioning. How easy is itto find parking in that area, and how much is A/C needed in Seattle in July?-- ---------------------------------------- ------------------------------------Davi d Albert :: :: I would avoid the Commodore or the Moore. If you are looking forreasonably priced accommodation, you should look at one of the Westcoastchain of hotels, either the Roosevelt or the Vance. Both are convenientlylocated to downtown and have parking available to their guests.I've never used the Commodore, but I do have their brochure. If the photois accurate it looks OK. I do know that some of their room do not haveprivate facilities, and it is part of the International hostelorganisation as well.If you are looking for cheap accom in Seattle I can suggest the Kings Inn,basic motel but comfortable about $60 USD per night. Their phone -1-800-546-4760.If you are prepared to spend a bit more (about $75 / night inc breakfast)go for The Pacific Plaza. Their phone 1-800-426-1165.

If you are looking for seattle hotels , I have found the best place on the Internet for all hotels is Expedia.com. Apparently if you book now you will save up to 70% on hotels worldwide.
