manchester hotels : Can anybody give the name/address of a decent cheap hotel in Manchester,preferably near the airport?Stay away from the Airport hotels (particularly the Post House!) they aredefinitly NOT cheap. There is a Travelodge (and I think a Premier Lodge) notto far from Picadilly which is a faily short ride to the Airport. There is aPremierlodge in Altrincham which isn't far from the AirportFor something a bit nicer (and I can thoroughly recommend) try Malmaisonopposite Picadilly - still cheaper than the bloody Post House at the Airportwhich has to be the most revolting hotel I've stayed in in the last 10years!I gather they occasionally have special rates.Otherwise, expect to pay 70ukp+ per night. :-/Accommodation might be a bit tricky to find around manchester what withthe commonwealth games coming up.If you're there shortly, try for bargain prices.Otherwise, Premier Lodge as already recommended are good cheap hotelsbut I prefer I have an over-nighter in transit between Aberdeen and New York on theevening of Sunday, June 30. I get into Manchester at 4:50 pm on the30th, leave the next day at 10:00 am.Hey Barry, never mind that old eejit... how long are you in Aberdeen!?

Can it really do the job well?The only thing I use this program for anymore is to generate the reporting that clients request. After reading this and alt.www.webmaster groups, I decided to do all my optimizing and submissions manually. Since that time, our clients sites have been performing better (read more income / sales leads per visitor per quarter).One thing I have to really say about this group is that the information these people post here are truly gems. Not everything will work for every situation, but the advice here always seems to be of tremondous quality. That makes this group one of the few "professional" groups that actually enjoy reading and learn from.Thanks. That's what I thought from the trial version. manchester hotels : the keywords should support this but i suggest repeating a keyword no morethan 6 times e.g."hotels leeds, hotels manchester, hotels sheffield,hotels in leeds,hotels inmanchester,hotels in sheffield"as this works tho not with google, notice the first thee have a space nextto the comma the second ones dont...i know people will argue with this but it works for me so i'll say nomore.put your page titles as <h1> (even if they surround an image) if you do usean image as a graphical title then make sure the text alt has your targetkeyphrase in there somewhere (taken from the <title>) e.g.the graphic says "welcome to " the lat tag says "findhotels in leeds - welcome to "and so forth own your text. make sure that your alt tags on any linkinggraphics are descriptive and again try and re-work in the keyphrase formyour <title>hope that works for you... oh and most importantly try and find some goodhotel directories that will link to you - download the google toolbar andcheck their pagerank before you do as a measure of how good thay are.

'hotels leedsmanchester sheffield' would do instead.In fact, you can get pages ranked w/o any meta tag at all - this shows howlittle weight goes on the meta keywords these days. It's just too easy tostuff the <meta keywords> tag with irrelevant stuff...Have you tried without? I've got pages in Google's top ten for singlekeyword searches w/o any meta keyword trickery.I'd suggest that you stop mentioning your site name in the <title> and <h1>tags - with a name like 'local-hotel.com' it's the last thing people arelikely to search for. Concentrate on the keywords - the URL is visible inthe browser's address bar once a visitor has arrived on your site, you don'tneed it in the <title> tag as well.you say this but again in my experience when people search its best to matchtheir searches word for word...again, ive found that more than 6 repeats means altavista doesnt list you.

Ihave pages in Google's top ten for single-word searches which don't even*have* a <meta keyword> tag. :-)Tweaking your meta tags won't get you anywhere in Google. Try having arelevant <title> and <h1> tag on each page. Try having content thatmentions your keywords. Try even mentioning some of your keywords in thetext of your homepage, for goodness' sake!IMHO it's better not to try to optimise your home page for dozens ofkeywords, instead you'd be better to have a dozen pages each optimised forone keyword/keyphrase....and the old chestnut. Make sure your pages validate. You are claimingXHTML 1.0 Transitional for , but it doesn't validate.You go to , pays your money, inputs a few relatedphrases and see what comes out.
