las vegas hotels : And just so you'll know, the Las Vegas Hilton, while not new or asflashy as the Luxor, but still a nice hotel, frequently advertises inthe L.A. Times rooms at $30/night, even sometimes on the weekends. You also may want to consider Priceline.com to bid on a hotel room. Ifthe Luxor interests you, and you are planning a mid-week trip, it's verylikely you could get a room at a similar quality hotel in the SouthStrip zone for around $40/night.If you have any questions about bidding for hotel rooms (or airfares) onPriceline.com, feek free to visit and post at the Yahoo Club I startedto discuss bidding on Priceline atWe stayed at the Las Vegas Hilton once when the Flamingo Hilton wasoversold. We were pleasantly surprised -- a very nice hotel by LVstandards. You should tell the original poster, though, that it's not onthe strip. Not an issue if you rent a car or, as we did, drive to LV, butless convenient if you're dependent on the hotel shuttle. Was at the Luxor about 18 months ago. Nice place, very large. Things are very spread out, to get from point A to B youwill have to walk through the casino. Its at one end of the Strip soyou'll pay more in taxi fares to get from place to place. If you stay in the pyramid (vs the towers) the elevator goesup/down at an angle. If you're on a high floor and have "had a few"you might end up on the floor, I did.Steve & Pam HallTampa Bay, Floridacut xspamx for true email
las vegas hotels : Hi there was in vegas in March this year had a geat time stayed at theBellagio i thought its the best hotel i have stayed in before. I am planingon coming back to vegas in january or feburary and was wondering what is thebest hotel to stay at out the ones i have listed? Also what will pricing befor these hotels and what sites are the best to get these codes you use toget really cheap rates at Las Vegas 5 Star Hotels?Try the Green Valley Ranch in Henderson, or Sunset Station. GVR isabsolutely Wonderful accomodations.. and the service is incredible. Theytreat you like royalty all the way!! I've stayed at all the hotels.. andNOTHING beats the GVR!!!! FUN croud of people too!Chris Wallace~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~Can you see the GHOST in this Picture?=> HAPPY HALLOWEEN! (Pssst... This is not necessarily true, as it means only that they providethe minimum services specified, e.g. 24-hour room service, on-siteconcierege, etc. las vegas hotels : I expect that any Las Vegas hotel would be considered 5-star if you're awhale. If you're talking about just an average guest, no special comps, and use theEuropean/Asian definition of 5-star, I don't think most Las Vegas hotelswould qualify. In my experience Bellagio is _not_ a 5-star hotel, at least by European andAsian standards -- though the hotel itself is nice, service was minimal andsurly (at least 2 years ago, when we stayed there). The Venetian is 5-star in every sense of the word, both excellent, comprehensive service and facilities.Caesars' Palace is probably 5-star by European standards, but is an exampleof a slightly less "nice" facility still qualifying. Don't get me wrong --I like Caesars, and have stayed there more often than any other hotel in LasVegas. It just isn't up to the Venetian standard, IMHO.I've never stayed at the Aladdin, either new old, so I can't comment. The Four Seasons at the Mandalay Bay is, almost certainly, a true 5-starhotel.As for getting cheap rates, I had an odd experience with the Venetian. WhenI first called for reservations, I was quoted $229/night (Friday andSaturday), and told that was the best rate. I called back an hour later, and was told that there was a special (and apparently secret) rate of$189/night. I don't know the best way to get the best rates, but it isclear that simply calling and asking the reservations agent is not the wayto go. las vegas hotels : On Wed, 30 Oct 2002 10:14:00 -0800, "Paul Tauger" wrote:I agree with you. I read all these rave reviews of Bellagio but in myexperience It was not as good as the Venitian. Besides the serviceetc. that you mentioned, it was just a little too "frilly" for lack ofa better word. I much prefer the Venetian decor. The Venetian sells rooms through Priceline, and since they are the only"5-star" (as rate by Priceline) hotel in Las Vegas to do so, you can bidthrough Priceline for 5-star hotels and be 100% sure you are bidding on theVenetian. Also check for expedia.com "special rates" (formerly travelscape)Be aware that Priceline and expedia special rate reservations arenon-refundable, and cannot be adjusted by the hotel for comp or guestservice purposes. Once you pay Priceline or Expedia, you have to deal withthem exclusively. Also make sure to sign up for the Venetian's email list, they often send outpromotions for $99 weekdays during slow times of year.Bellagio and Caesar's are harder to get deals on, Aladdin I would considerto be lower quality. I would look at Mandalay Bay, Paris, or Mirage beforeAladdin. las vegas hotels : I've recieved e-mails from the Venetian for $99 per night for weekdays onslow months ( stayed in Sept. $431.64 for 4 nights tax included) . This monthrecieved one for $119 per night, they must have gone up but is still a gooddeal. The only bad thing is to recieve this rate you have to prepay all of yournights and it isn't refundable or changable. I'm not sure if I startedrecieving these promos after registering with them online or because a I hadmade reservation with them then later canceled. There is nothing to lose if youmake a regular reservation for say 2 nights then cancel and receive your firstnight deposit credited back just to get put on their e-mail list for promos.Mobil Four-Star LodgingsBellagio Las Vegas, Las VegasFour Seasons Hotel, Las Vegas, Las VegasHarrah's Lake Tahoe Hotel Casino, StatelineHyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort and Casino, Incline VillageHyatt Regency Las Vegas Resort, Las VegasVenetian Resort Hotel & Casino, Las VegasMobil Five-Star RestaurantsPicasso, Las VegasRenoir, Las VegasMobil Four-Star RestaurantsAqua, Las VegasLe Cirque, Las VegasLutece, Las VegasNobu, Las Vegas
