hotels in london : I have done some research in Hilton Hotel web site for my trip to UK. Actually I am planning to stay in London for only a single night. Ihave sorted out four Hilton Hotels and hope anybody who could help mechoose one.The 4 Hotels are Olympia, Islington, Metropole and HydePark.Luxury is not my No.1 concern, I just want to stay in a hotel, withclean rooms, which is located a safe area.I believe the 4 hotels are close to tube station.and the reason that I choose Hilton Hotel group is their brand. Aswell, doing online booking at hilton website is easy. I had a prettygood experience staying in Hilton when I travelled to Japan.Thanks.I think you're leaving out the Hilton Mews. It's a quaint little placebehind the "big" Hilton near HydePark. Very nice though and a greatconcierge :-).Thanks for your advice. I don't mean that I have to stick withHilton. hotels in london : The hotel is in a very cute "neighborhood" of London and a couple blocksfrom all the major attractions, including Oxford street. It's on a quietsmall street, which I like, and then you walk two blocks and you aresubmerged into the hussle and bussle. Very nice place to stay.If luxury isn't your main concern, what is? The Hyde Park Hilton isprobably one of their most luxurious (and expensive) hotels in the UK.What price range are you looking in? When are you going to London? Youcan find some good prices at if you're travellingsoon. For one of the best located hotels in London at a veryreasonable price try , search for London and clickon the one at County Hall. It's right opposite the Houses ofParliament, clean and pleasant, and excellent value.Try the Langham Hilton, just off Oxford Street. Its very central, rooms arenice, had a nice Vodka bar if thats your thing and the service and roomswere very nice. I stayed there for a week last year and couldnt hope for abetter location. That said I lived in Islington which is an excellentlocation for restaurants etc, but the Hilton there is a new-build ex-Stakisand not a very nice building at all.Enjoy.Dave
hotels in london : I am flying in / out of LCY to visit my brother in Hackney but amtrying to decide where the best place is to book a hotel that isconvenient for both + maybe a trip to a gallery (as there doesn't seemmuch choice in Hackney itself). Does anyone have any suggestions?Two areas I found look like they migth be OK - Liverpool St +Bloomsbury. How long does it take to get from Liverpool St to Hackneyby cab? Does anyone know how far Bloomsbury is from London CityAirport by cab?It is a travelodge hotel in London's Docklands, a nice area to stayand a stones throw from Hackney in one direction and London City Airport inthe other.Also handy for the Embankment, Tower Bridge, City and West End via the LimeHouse Link Tunnel.The Canary Wharf area is very convenient for both, but you'll have to coughup a LOT of money to stay around there. There is a Hilton in Canary Wharf.From Centre Pointe to 150 Hackney Rd. by cab takes about 30 min eachway during mid day, costs £8 to 10.
