Disney tracks reservations against projections andwhen they fall below the line they begin releasing additional rooms to their discount programs such as AP or MKC. You'll have more luckgetting a discount in early May than in late May.As long as you have the AP at check-in you're OK. However, a few days ago I was reading a travel columnabout a Hotel Discounts reservation that got screwed up, and wouldn't youknow, it happened to a travel writer. So, needless to say, that personwasn't as complimentary of Hotel Discounts as I've been. On the otherhand, there's going to be a glitch in a reservation sometime regardless ofwhich reservation service you use.Evanston is on the north border of the city, a quick cabride downtown if one doesn't want to take the El, whichruns up there. There's a Holiday Inn and an Omni in the"downtown" business district. And there are things tosee and do in Evanston, rather than watch TV at O'Hare.By the way, did the Claridge Hotel or Wyndham AmbassadorWest Hotel pop up at an online travel site? They're atthe top of Michigan Avenue in an upper class residentialdistrict.The Special Deals page at Travelocity (sans Hotel Discounts)or Hot Deals page at Travelscape are my favorites.
