Also, as most of the tourists in Amsterdam are Brits and Yanks,clever businessmen/hotel-owners have raised proces in NLG even more toreflect the euro/pound and euro/USdollar exchange rate movements. SoBrits and Americans still find prices in Amsterdam acceptable, while forpeople from other countries they have become extremely expensive. Having beento Amsterdam for over fortyfive years I can truthfully say that I have neverbeen ripped of by anyone in that city. In fact the Amsterdamers have alwaysgone the extra mile to politly cater to tourists in every facet of their stays unlike some other other European cities.I totally agree. People in Amsterdam are far more nicer than anyone else youwill ever meet in Europe.I must say that the Dutch, as a group, are among the finest andfunniest people I have met. However, they are not inclined to giveaway money, or to ignore the opportunity to make a fair profit from,say, a glut of visitors to a city with a limited number of hotelrooms. Is it done differently in Vermont?If you check, you'll find that self-reported drug use among EVERY agegroup in the Netherlands is lower than among the corresponding agegroup in the USA. (again) >>According to the Amsterdam Hotel Guide 2000Room rates at the Terminus range for a twin/double range from fl 230-275. Mylast years guide to Amsterdam Hotels show the Terminus doubles at fl 210-240.Considering that energy prices in Europe have increased 23% in eight months,IMO that doesn't appear to be a unreasonable rate increase. All the hotelprices here in my city, San Francisco have gone up around 20% because of thehigh cost of energy. DAS ROTE skrev iA real bad excuse. The cost of heating, hot water and electricity for my3room flat is something equal to US$ 90/month. The daily cost for a hotelroom must be a fraction only of that sum.
